Eligibility Criteria
A) For Retired Bank Employees
- Retired officers (including voluntarily retired) of any bank (PSU, RRB, Private or Co-operative Banks) up to the rank of Senior Manager or equivalent can apply.
- Retired clerks and equivalent of Central Bank of India who have passed JAIIB with a good track record can apply.
- All applicants must have at least 3 years of rural banking experience.
- Maximum entry age: 64 years.
- Maximum age for continuation: 65 years.
B) For Young Candidates
- Minimum qualification: Graduate with computer knowledge (MS Office, email, Internet, etc.).
- Candidates with M.Sc. (IT), BE (IT), MCA or MBA will be given preference.
- Age limit: 21 to 45 years at the time of appointment.
- Maximum age for continuation: 60 years.
Location Requirements
- Candidates are selected from the same district where they will work. If suitable candidates are not available there, they may be selected from adjoining districts.
- Candidates must be proficient in the local language and dialect, both reading and writing.
- Candidates from other states will not be selected under any circumstances.
- Applicants must be willing to visit villages in the district for supervision and other activities.
- Applicants must have accommodation near the nodal branch, and not outside the district concerned.
Due Diligence
- KYC and CIBIL reports will be checked at the time of appointment.
- Candidates with an adverse record, or who were terminated or dismissed from past service, will not be considered.
- Police verification is mandatory for every selected applicant before duty is assigned.
Salary and Remuneration
The pay has a fixed part and a variable part. The variable part depends on the performance score of the BC Agents under the supervisor, as per the Scoring Matrix (Annexure-2).

The bank decides which category a supervisor falls in. TDS will be deducted from the monthly remuneration.

Leave Rules
- Maximum 3 days of leave per month and 30 days in a year.
- Leave accrues at 2.5 days for each completed month from the date of joining.
- Leave of more than 3 days needs at least 7 days’ notice.
- Weekly offs and public holidays that fall within a leave period count as leave.
- In extraordinary circumstances (self or dependent sickness, unforeseen situations), Extra Ordinary Leave on Loss of Pay (ELOP) of up to 60 days may be granted at the Regional Head’s discretion. It can be availed a maximum of twice during the engagement.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Monitor BC Agents daily through the BC Dashboard, phone calls and online VC meetings, and visit BC points monthly.
- Set targets for BC Agents and track progress against them.
- Ensure banking services reach identified villages, Sub Service Areas (SSAs) and Non-SSAs.
- Train BCs on their roles and responsibilities.
- Resolve customer and BC grievances and send feedback to the link branch and Regional Office.
- Visit allotted villages and BC points at least once a month, and submit reports to the Chief Manager / Officer in-charge of Financial Inclusion.
- Ensure BCs are active, work during proper hours, do no off-line transactions and issue only system-generated slips.
- Ensure BCs do cross-selling of bank and third-party products, and support recovery of bank dues.
- Conduct financial literacy sessions and organize camps.
- Ensure the Dos & Don’ts board is displayed at BC points.
- Coordinate with branches and service providers to replace BCs quickly if they leave.
IIBF-BC Certification
- BC Supervisors must obtain IIBF-BC certification within 3 months of joining.
- The bank reimburses the registration fee once.
- Penalty for non-compliance:
- 4th to 6th month: ₹1,000 deducted from the fixed component
- 7th to 12th month: ₹2,000 deducted from the fixed component
- After 12 months: the contract will not be renewed
- Retired bank staff who have completed JAIIB/CAIIB are exempt from this certification.
Contract, Review and Termination
- The initial contract is for 12 months, subject to a satisfactory annual performance review.
- Performance is reviewed monthly by the Regional Head, and renewal is based on the monthly Scoring Matrix.
- Either party can end the contract with 30 days’ notice.
- The bank can terminate immediately, without notice, in cases of fraud, misappropriation or misconduct.
- If more than 50% of BC Agents miss targets for 2 consecutive months or 2 quarters, the supervisor’s performance will be reviewed for continuation.
- A BC Agent must not be related to the supervisor by family, blood or business ties.
