Weight: proportionate to height and age, as per the uniform medical guidelines for CAPFs. Underweight or overweight candidates are not rejected at the PST stage. The final decision is made at the Detailed Medical Examination.

Medical Standards
- Distant vision: 6/6 in the better eye and 6/9 in the worse eye, without glasses. Visual correction of any kind is not permitted.

- Colour vision: CP III by Ishihara. Colour-blind candidates are not eligible.
- Binocular vision is required.
- No knock knees, flat foot, varicose veins or squint.
- Good mental and bodily health, free from any physical defect that could affect duties.
- Tattoos: allowed only within limits (religious symbols or names as followed in the Indian Army, on the inner left forearm or back of the hands, and less than ¼ of that body part). Substantially faded tattoos after removal are treated as a scar, with the approval of the Presiding Officer.
