🎓 Eligibility Criteria
1. Age Limit (As on 01-08-2026):
- Candidates must be between 18 and 27 years of age.
- You must have been born not before 02-08-1999 and not later than 01-08-2008.
- Note: Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories (e.g., 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC) as per government rules.
2. Educational Qualification (As on 07-10-2026):
- For LDC/JSA and DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ (Except specific departments): Candidates must have passed the 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
- For DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ in specific departments (e.g., Ministry of Consumer Affairs, SSC, Ministry of Culture): You must have passed the 12th Standard in the Science stream with Mathematics as a subject.

The commission will fill the following positions through this examination:
- Lower Division Clerk (LDC) / Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): Pay Level-2 (Rs. 19,900 – 63,200)
- Data Entry Operator (DEO): Pay Level-4 (Rs. 25,500 – 81,100) and Level-5 (Rs. 29,200 – 92,300)
- Data Entry Operator, Grade ‘A’: Pay Level-4 (Rs. 25,500 – 81,100)

Q1. What is the application fee for the SSC CHSL 2026 exam? The application fee is Rs. 100/-. However, women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and eligible Ex-servicemen (ESM) are completely exempted from paying the fee.
Q2. How can I apply for the SSC CHSL examination? Applications must be submitted exclusively online through the new official website of the SSC Headquarters (https://ssc.gov.in) or via the “my SSC” mobile application. You will first need to generate a One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new website before filling out the application form.
Q3. What is the selection process for SSC CHSL 2026? The Computer Based Examination will be conducted in two tiers: Tier-I and Tier-II. Candidates will be shortlisted for Tier-II based on their performance in Tier-I. The final merit list will be prepared based on the overall performance in the Tier-II examination.
Q4. Can I correct mistakes in my application form after submitting it? Yes. The SSC will open a “Window for Application Form Correction” from 14.10.2026 to 16.10.2026 (23:00 Hours).
